The company’s head office is situated in Da Nang city, a big politic-economic centre of the Central area. Song Tranh Hydropower company was assigned by Vietnam Electricity Group (EVN) and Power Generation Corporation No.1 to manage and operate Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant with capacity of 190MW (2x95MW). The plant was constructed in Bac Tra My district, Quang Nam province. This is multi-purposes project: supplying an average electricity output of 679,6 million kWh/year for the national power system; preventing lowland area of the plant from flood; creating a supplement water source for dry season, contributing to the socio-economic development of the region.
After 5 years of construction, the plant has officially been put into operation and connected to the national grid since October, 2010. With 2 years of official operation, the plant has provided 1,089 billion kWh, paid tax of 102,857 billion to local budget, considerably contributed to the socio-economic development of Quang Nam province.
The company has gradually built up a team of staff and engineers for management, operation and repairing works so that Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant could operate safely and effectively. In the future, besides operation management task of Song Tranh 2 hydropower plant, the company will focus on other activities such as: Providing repair, maintenance and overhaul services; improving electrical equipment and works; testing and adjusting electrical works; consulting services for project management, bidding and supervision of construction and erection activities; performing transmission line, transformer station projects; supporting operation and maintenance preparation works of, training manpower for hydropower plants.
