Situation of production and business activities in July 2018:
In July 2018, the electricity output of EVNGENCO1 reached 2.514 million kWh, accounting for 89% of the output planned in July and 128% of output in the same period of 2017. Of which, hydroelectricity output reached 623 million kWh and thermal power output valued at 1.891 million kWh. For the first 7 months of 2018, the electricity output of the Corporation was 18.898 million kWh, achieving 55% of the year plan.
Due to heavy rains in the North in July, water volume in the reservoirs was much higher than the average volume in recent years. Water flow in Ban Ve reservoir reached the highest level in the flood season. On 30/07/2018, the power plant discharged water according to the inter-reservoir operation procedure. Water level in Ham Thuan reservoir was higher than 13m while that in Dong Nai 3 reservoir reached a half of frequent level. Water volume in Dai Ninh and Don Duong reservoirs accounted for over 90% of the frequent one. In the first seven months, the hydro power plants of the Corporation have produced extra 626 million kWh compared to the planned output.
Available thermoelectric units operated in a stable manner under the requirement of National Load Dispatch Centre. The Corporation has put unit S1 (Duyen Hai 1) into operation after the generator remedy. During the month, because of high mobilization of hydropower plants, the thermal power plants were mobilized with average capacity lower than the one planned, some thermal power plants were for backup plan. Currently, the remedy of S7 turbine - Uong Bi is being highly focused.
EVNGENCO1 also focused on ensuring fuel supply in the dry seasons in 2018. To specify, the Corporation has been carrying out the plan of domestic and imported coal purchase according to the signed contracts to meet the demand of electricity production. Repair and maintenance work, occupational health and safety and fire prevention of EVNGENCO 1 have always been of special concern.
Regarding construction and investment, for projects invested by EVNGENCO1, the value of implemented volume in July 2018 was VND 1,489 billion. In the first 7 months, the value of implemented volume and the disbursement value were VND 7,248 billion (accounting for 56.83% of the year plan) and VND 7,201 billion (accounting for 56% of the year plan), respectively. For Extended Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Project (EVN is the investor; EVNGENCO1, represented by Thermal Power Project Management Board No.3, is the project management consulting unit), the value of implemented volume in July 2018 was VND 260 billion. In the first 7 months, the value of implemented volume and the total disbursement value of this project were VND 1,421.98 billion (accounting for 20.68% of the year plan) and VND 1,872 billion (accounting for 30.6% of the year plan), respectively.
Currently, EVNGENCO1 is also urgently completing final settlement work of some projects, including Extended Uong Bi 2, Duyen Hai Electricty Center Seaport, Duyen Hai 1 TPP and Song Tranh 2 Hydro Power Project, and arranging capital for key projects.
In terms of equitization of the parent company - Power Generation Corporation 1, on 23/07/2018, the Management Board of EVN held a meeting and agreed on submitting the competent authorities the plan to change the time for determining the enterprise value into 01/01/2019. The Ministry of Industry and Trade also sent the documents on the land using plan after equitization to the relevant Ministries and Departments.
Key objectives in August 2018:
In August 2018, EVNGENCO1 shall strive to fulfill the task of producing 2.704 million KWh of electricity as assigned, including hydroelectricity of 649 million kWh and thermal power of 2,055 million kWh. Hydropower plants shall optimize the use of water resources and carry out the inter-reservoir regulatory procedure and water supply for the lowland. The thermal power plants shall optimize the output produced according to the requirement of the National Load Dispatch Centre.
In addition, the Corporation shall continue to accelerate the selection of contractor for repairing S7 turbine of Uong Bi TPP; accelerate the project of building the flying ash discharge system through the seaport of Duyen Hai Electricity Center and implement the coal combustion in Duyen Hai 1 Thermal Power Plant.
Especially, EVNGENCO1 also focuses on the solutions to ensure sufficient coal for electricity production. In particular, the Corporation plans to work with TKV and Dong Bac Corporation to ensure quantity and quality of domestic coal source supplied for Duyen Hai 1 TPP. At the same time, EVNGENCO1 shall sign a contract to buy 1 million tons of imported coal for electricity production of Duyen Hai 3 TPP (phase 1, 2018). The corporation also plans to approve the coal importing plan in 2019-2020 period and the period after 2020 to have basis for implementation.
EVNGENCO 1 shall strictly monitor the progress and the quality of the construction works according to the current regulations. Specifically, for Extended Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Project, the Corporation has requested Sumitomo contractor to use measures to ensure the schedule of the first boiler fire on 07/01/2019. For Da Nhim Hydropower project (extended), the Corporation has directed the Owner which is Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower JSC to urge the contractor to accelerate the process of tunneling by TBM machine, and study and implement the alternative solutions to ensure electricity generation schedule.
Regarding equitization, the Corporation shall complete discussion with local authorities on the land using plan after equitization to submit to Ministry of Finance for approval before carrying out the enterprise value determination.
Last but not least, EVNGENCO1 shall inspect the implementation of the project “Improving business efficiency and increasing productivity in 2016-2020 period” at all power plants.
