Official working session between EVNGENCO1 and the senior leaders of Hall Chadwick Melbourne (Australia)

On February 29, 2024 in Hanoi, Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa - Chairman of EVNGENCO1's BOD hosted a reception and working session with the delegation of Hall Chadwick Melbourne (Australia) led by Mr. Ted Baillieu AO (the former Prime Minister of Victoria, Australia) on discussing about potential future cooperation opportunities.

Participating in the working delegation of Hall Chadwick Melbourne were Mr. Simon Reed – Director of Robert LuxMoore Project; Mr. Michael Hannibal, Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CiP); Mr. Mark Garkaw, Project Director of L39 Capital 5; Mr. Peter Rubinstein - Project Director of L39 Capital.

Talking with EVNGENCO1 leaders, Mr. Ted Baillieu AO said that he and the members of the delegation have been involved in energy transition projects in the Victoria State (Australia) for a long time and ready to share and exchange this experience with international partners, aiming to neutralize carbon and reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Mr. Nguyen Tien Khoa, Chairman of the BOD and other members of EVNGENCO1 introduced the scale and potential of the EVNGENCO1. Accordingly, Power Generation Corporation 1 is planning to invest and deploy a number of renewable energy projects, LNG thermal power plants and expand existing hydropower plants according to the National Power Development Plan of period 2021 - 2030, vision to 2050 (the PDP VIII) as issued at the Decision No. 500/QD-TTg dated May 15, 2023 by the Prime Minister.

After listening to the introduction of EVNGENCO1 leaders, members of the partner’s delegation highly appreciated the potential and opportunities for cooperation between the parties, especially in the financial sector. Therefore, the delegation expressed their desires to expand the exchange of experience between the both sides in the energy transition process as well as the development of various types of green energy, especially cooperation opportunities in the financial sector relating to refinancing a number of existing foreign loans and investing in new projects in the future.

At the end of the meeting, a Mandate (as the Minutes of Meeting) were signed by both parties whereby both sides agreed to provide information for future cooperation activities.
