The learning and exchanging of experiences on gender equality activities

On March 3rd, 2023, the Trade Union of EVNGENCO1 in coordination with the Trade Union of Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company organized a program of learning and exchanging experience on the work of promoting women's progress and gender equality. This is one of the notable events in the series of activities leading up to the commemoration of the 113th anniversary of International Women's Day (March 8th, 1910 - March 8th, 2023) and the 1983th anniversary of the Hai Ba Trung Uprising.

The program was organized with the aim of deep and regular implementation as well as promoting, disseminating, and educating policies, laws, Party guidelines and directions on the work of promoting women's progress and gender equality, especially for female union members and union officials in the EVNGENCO1 Headquarter.

The program was attended by Mr. Dinh Kim Cuong - Member of the Board of Directors of EVNGENCO1, Mr. Nguyen Manh Huan – Vice President, Head of EVNGENCO1 Headquarter, Mr. Tran Doan Thanh - Chairman of EVNGENCO1 Trade Union, Mr. Nguyen Tuan Anh - Chairman of the Board of Directors of Quang Ninh Thermal Power Joint Stock Company, and all female employees of the two units.

Recognizing the role and importance of female labor, in recent years, the Party Committee Executive Board and the Standing Committee, especially the Committee for Women's Progress at EVNGENCO1 Headquarter, have always paid attention to leading the work of female officials and implementing gender equality goals, creating conditions for women to develop and contribute their capacity and intelligence to the development of the company.

Furthermore, the Committee for Women's Progress has collaborated with the Trade Union, Women's Union, and Organizational Committee of the agency to timely disseminate the relevant policies, laws, and programs related to the work of women's progress and gender equality to all employees, especially female officials and workers of the company.

With a high spirit of effort and determination, EVNGENCO1 has achieved or exceeded most of the set targets, especially in the objectives of increasing the participation of women in leadership and management positions, reducing gender gaps in the fields of economy, labor, and employment; gender equality in the field of education and training; gender equality in access to and enjoyment of healthcare services; and enhancing the state management capacity on gender equality. In particular, female officers themselves increasingly fully understand their roles, positions, and responsibilities in the new situation, have overcome difficulties, and constantly strive to improve their qualifications and enhance themselves to meet the assigned tasks.

The study and exchange activities have helped the two units enhance their capacity even further in proposing initiatives to promote gender equality, women's work, protection of women's rights and legal interests in the near future.
