Electricity output was beyond expectation
Regarding business and construction situation in May and plan for June 2018, GENCO1 said, the total electricity output of the Corporation in May 2018 was 2.972 million kWh, reaching 86% of the plan and gaining 116% of output in the same period of 2017; In which, hydropower was 619 million kWh, and thermal power was 2.383 million kWh. Generally for 5 months, the electricity output of the Corporation valued at 13.837 million kWh, achieving 40.3% of the year plan.
Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydro Power Plant.
According to GENCO1, in May, water flow in the reservoirs was higher than frequency. The hydroelectric units were operated under the objectives of regulatory and ensuring water supply for the lowland. In the first 5 months, the company's hydro power plants have produced extra 578 million kWh of electricity compared to the plan. Available thermoelectric units operated in a stable manner and were continually mobilized at a rated power; so the electricity output was higher than the one planned, offsetting the shortfall caused by the suspension of S7 unit - Uong Bi TPP and S1 unit - Duyen Hai 1 TPP for repairing. The remedy of the above units are promptly implemented.
GENCO1 also focused on ensuring fuel supply in the dry seasons in 2018, with the signing of contracts for the purchase of domestic coal; organizing the contractor selection steps, signing and implementing the coal purchasing contract for Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant
In May 2018, the Corporation opened bid and reviewed the bid package of 1 million tons of coal supply for commercial operation of Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant in 2018 (phase 1) and issued the bidding documents for the purchase of 1 million tons of coal (phase 2)
Also in May, the Corporation has successfully organized the Occupational Health and Safety Competition 2018 and Good Labor Recognition
Regarding investment - construction, for projects invested by GENCO1, the value of implemented volume in May 2018 was VND 2,035,995 million. By the end of May, the total implemented volume of construction and investment gained VND 5,323,855 million (reaching 41.74% of the year plan). The disbursement value in the first five months of this year was VND 5,467,463 million (reaching 43% of the year plan)
For Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Project (Extended), the expected value of realized volume in May was VND 260 billion. After the first five months of 2018, the realized value of the project was VND 1,26,100 million, reaching 20.67% of the year plan. In general, the implementation of key projects has got positive changes; However, these projects are still behind schedule.
Currently, GENCO1 is also promptly completing final settlement work of completed projects and arranging capital for key projects
In terms of the equitization of the parent company - Power Generation Corporation 1, according to the result of Steering Committee for Equitization’s meeting, the equitization plan will be adjusted to comply with the regulations in the Decree No. 126/2017/ND-CP. Time for determining the enterprise value will be after the approval of land using plan. On 23/4/2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued Document No. 315/BCT-TC to the Ministry of Finance on the plan of arranging and handling the real estates and is currently waiting for opinions.
In effort to complete the objectives in the first 6 months
In June 2018, GENCO1 shall strive to fulfill the task of producing 3.058 million KWh of electricity as assigned, including hydroelectricity of 616 million kWh and thermal power of 2.442 million kWh. Hydropower plants are required to optimize the water volume in the reservoirs, conform to the inter-reservoir regulatory process and ensure water supply for the lowland. Thermal power plants shall be stably operated to meet the requirements of National Load Dispatch Center; GENCO1 will also continue to accelerate the pace of major repairs to early put S1, S2 units - Duyen Hai 1 TPP and S2 unit – Nghi Sơn TPP into operation again.
Especially, GENCO1 also focuses on the solutions to ensure sufficient coal for electricity production. The Corporation is planning to issue bid documents for the dredge and maintenance of Duyen Hai seaport fairway to ensure the depth for the vessels with designed load to enter.
In terms of construction and investment, GENCO1 will continue to speed up the finalization of the projects namely Nghi Son 1, Extended Uong Bi 2, Duyen Hai 3. Especially, Genco1 shall strive to complete the finalization report of Song Tranh 2 Hydro Power Project.
For Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant project (extended), the Corporation has requested Sumitomo contractor to accelerate the remedy progress of FGD system and ensure that all work items are under the same schedule. For Da Nhim Hydropower project (extended), the Corporation has directed the Owner - Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower JSC to urge the contractor to accelerate the process of tunneling by TBM machine
Regarding the equitization, GENCO1 will coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to work with the People's Committees of Thanh Hoa and Quang Ninh provinces to discuss on the land using plan after equitization. In addition, The Corporation will apply solutions to achieve healthy finance and withdraw its capital from joint stock companies under the direction of EVN.
Furthermore, in June, GENCO1 will develop the scientific research plan for 2018-2023 period; Issue bidding documents for the pakages: dredge and maintenance of Duyen Hai seaport fairway, repairing S7 unit - Uong Bi; and build solutions for operating the generators in the last 6 months ensuring the targets of the Corporation’s business plan in 2018.
