Hydropower keeps on leading
Total electricity output of the Corporation in May 2018 was 2,972 million kWh, reaching 86% of the plan in May and 116% over the same period of 2017, of which hydropower reached 619 million kWh and thermal power was 2,383 million kWh. For 5 months generally, the production output of the Corporation was 13,837 million kWh reached 40.3% of the year plan. Particularly, the hydropower sector continues to lead the area that accumulated for 5 months, the hydropower plants of the Corporation have exceeded 578 million kWh compared to the planned output. In May, the water flow in the reservoirs are higher than the frequency of water (excluding Dai Ninh Hydropower). Hydropower plants are operated for the purpose of regulating and ensuring downstream water supply.
Not only hydropower, the available thermopower units are in stable operation and are mobilized continuously at the rated power with the output of electricity produced in excess of the plan, to cover part of the shortage due to stoppage for repair of the units of S7 Uong Bi and S1 Duyen Hai 1. Repair and remedy work of such defected units are set at highest focus by EVNGENCO1 to ensure production stablility.
EVNGENCO 1 also focuses on ensuring fuel supply in the dry season in 2018 with signing contracts for domestic coal procurement; carrying out selection of contractors, contracting and implementing contracts for imported coal procurement for operation of Duyen Hai Thermal Power Plant No. 3. The bright point in fuel ensurance is to provide enough coal for plants, especially for imported coal plants.
Continuing to promote equitization
As for the equitization of the parent company – Generation Power Corporation No. 1, pursuant to the results of the Steering Committee for Equitization of Genco1 (on May 18th, 2018), the equitization of EVNGENCO1 is carried out in accordance with the as stipulated in the Decree No. 126/2017 / ND-CP. The valuation of the enterprise will be made after the land use plan is approved. On April 23, 2018, the Ministry of Industry and Trade issued the Document No. 3151/BCT-TC to the Ministry of Finance on the plan of arranging and handling of estate facilities when equitizating of EVNGENCO1, now waiting for the comments from the Ministry of Finance.
In June, EVNGENCO1 continues to put significant focus on its equitization. EVNGENCO1 will coordinate with the Ministry of Industry and Trade to work with Thanh Hoa People's Committee and Quang Ninh People's Committee on the land use plan after equitization. Another key task is capital divestment and financial sanitation which is process of implementing with the preparation and submission to EVN of the plan to divest the Da Nhim-Ham Thuan-Dam Mi JSC and VNPD.
Key tasks in June
In June 2018, EVNGENCO1 strives to complete the task of electric production with a total electricity output of 3, 058 million kWh, of which hydropower: 616 million kWh; thermal power: 2,442 million kWh. Hydropower plants are required to optimize the water volume of the reservoir, to properly regulate the reservoir and to meet downstream water supply requirements. The thermal power plants operate stably, meeting the requirements of the regulation of the National Load Dispatch Center; continuing to accelerate the repair to put the S1, S2 Duyen Hai units; Nghi Son S2 back into operation. EVNGENCO1 pays special attention to solutions to ensure sufficient coal for electricity production. To achieve this, the Corporation prepares to issue bidding documents to dredge the channel of Duyen Hai Seaport to ensure the depth of the channel and the ability to receive ships with load as the design and work with the Ministry of Resources and Environment to determine the location of dumping.
On construction investment, EVNGENCO1 will continue to speed up the settlement of projects Nghi Son 1, Uong Bi 2, Duyen Hai 3, especially to settle the entire Song Tranh hydropower project after June 30, 2018, unilaterally make final settlement for the volume of qualified settlement. With projects under construction such as Duyen Hai 3 Thermal Power Plant Project, the Corporation has requested contractors to rebuild the FGD system and ensure that other items are synchronized with the general schedule of the project. For the extension Da Nhim Project, the Corporation is speeding up to put the TBM tunneling system into operation at a normalized capacity. As for Duyen Hai Port Project, EVNGENCO1 is preparing to launch the EPC package of the project.
In addition, in June 2018, EVNGENCO 1 will deploy the development plan of the Corporation for the period 2018-2023; issue bidding packages: Duyen Hai Port Dredging, S7 Uong Bi Turbine Repair; Report on the control of coal consumption at thermal power plants; Preparation of mixed coal combustion at Duyen Hai thermal power plant; Approval of coal import strategy in the Corporation; making plans on electricity tariff negotiation according to the settled values of Dai Ninh and Ban Ve projects; Setting up solutions to operate generators in the last 6 months, to ensure the production and business activities in 2018 in the Corporation.
