Dong Nai Hydropower Company exceeded electricity production plan in the first six months of 2024

In the first six months of 2024, Dong Nai Hydropower Company produced 813.9 million kWh, achieving 103.2% of the six-month dry season production plan and 59.1% of the full-year 2024 production plan. The power generating units operate safely and stably, meeting the dispatch requirements, exceeding the economic and technical targets assigned by Power Generation Corporation 1, and ensuring the water supply requirements for downstream areas during the dry season of 2024.

Thanks to its proactive efforts in forecasting hydrological conditions, monitoring water inflows, and regulating reservoirs, since the end of 2023, Dong Nai Hydropower Company has regulated the water level of the Dong Nai 3 Hydropower reservoir to maintain it close to the normal flood level of 589.7/590 m, preparing well for the 2024 exploitation plan. In the first six months of 2024, the company has proactively and closely coordinated with the National Power System Dispatch Center (A0) and local authorities in operating the two Dong Nai 3 & Dong Nai 4 hydropower reservoirs, ensuring the downstream discharge flow meets the requirements of the combined reservoir system in the Dong Nai River basin and effectively utilizing water resources.

The company has generated 813.9 million kWh of electricity, reaching 103.2% of the six-month dry season production plan and 59.1% of the full-year 2024 production plan assigned by Power Generation Corporation 1. Of which, the Dong Nai 3 Hydropower Plant (capacity of 180 MW) generated 299.94 million kWh and the Dong Nai 4 Hydropower Plant (capacity of 340 MW) generated 513.96 million kWh, contributing to ensuring electricity supply for the national power system during the recent dry season.

Along with that, the power generating units are always maintained and repaired, resulting in high availability, safe and stable operation, and excellent response to the dispatch mode of the National Power System. This success is attributed to the efforts of the company's engineers and workers, the close guidance of the leadership, and the solidarity and determination of the entire staff.

Simultaneously with power generation, in the first six months of the year, the company has used various funds to organize social welfare activities in the area with a total cost of 602.3 million VND. Some notable activities include: Supporting the construction of 4 charity houses in Lộc Bảo commune (Bảo Lâm district, Lâm Đồng province), Đắk Plao commune (Đắk Glong district, Đắk Nông province), presenting 160 Tet gifts worth a total of 85 million VND to poor households, repairing electricity, and installing new solar lamps for households in particularly difficult circumstances..., enhancing the role and responsibility of Dong Nai Hydropower Company in particular and Power Generation Corporation 1 in general towards the community.

In the remaining six months of 2024, electricity consumption demand is projected to continue to increase, and climate change is expected to continue to have a significant impact, leading to more complex disasters, especially rainfall, floods, and inundation. The company strives to ensure that the units are ready to be dispatched safely and efficiently, completing the assigned electricity production of 1,377 million kWh, meeting the assigned technical indicators for maintenance outage rate, availability factor, self-consumption electricity ratio… Effectively implementing the maintenance of the Dong Nai 3 & Dong Nai 4 hydropower plants, ensuring quality, volume, and progress; organizing the full implementation of the occupational safety and health, environmental protection, disaster prevention, and search and rescue plan; using electricity efficiently; and promoting solidarity among all employees in the company to unite and work together towards the goal of successfully completing the 2024 production and business tasks.
