Completed the upgrade of the control system for the generating units at the Da Mi Hydropower Plant

On February 27th, 2023, Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company completed the upgrade of the Distributed Control System (DCS) for the generating units at the Da Mi Hydropower Plant.

The Da Mi Hydropower Plant is located downstream of the Ham Thuan - Da Mi hydropower plant cluster. The water, after running through the turbines at the Ham Thuan plant, flows to the Da Mi reservoir, which provides the potential energy to generate electricity for two generating units with a total capacity of 175MW at the Da Mi Hydropower Plant.

The current control system of Da Mi has been in operation since 2001. Over time, the equipment has become outdated, and some control devices are no longer in production. The technical computer system uses outdated versions that cannot be updated to higher versions.

The interface of the existing control system

To ensure safe and reliable operation of the equipment at the Da Mi Hydropower Plant, Da Nhim - Ham Thuan - Da Mi Hydropower Joint Stock Company has invited biddings for the design, manufacture, supply, installation, and testing of the entire Distributed Control System (DCS) and equipment monitoring system at the Da Mi Hydropower Plant. The project also includes connecting the SCADA system to the control levels, the Ham Thuan Hydropower Plant, and the OCC Control Center of the Company in Bao Loc city, Lam Dong province.
